President of NCCU Visits CUHK
Prof. Edward H. Chow, President of National Chengchi University (NCCU), led a delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong kong (CUHK) on July 18. Apart form attending the 5th Cross-Strait Forum on Education of Modern Colleges (Details of Forum can be found here), the delegates had meeting with senior members of CUHK including Prof. Rocky Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President, and Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, as well as Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). Memorandum of Understanding regarding general collaboration between the two universities was renewed at the meeting. Both universities also concluded collaboration agreement on student exchange.
Since the establishment of partnership in 2012, CUHK and NCCU have been collaborating in a variety of areas, particularly in social science and business. The visit of President Chow confirmed the student exchange programme and strengthen the links between the two universities that promoted sustainable development of the partnership.

President of CPPCC Guangzhou Committee Visits CUHK
Dr. Liu Yue Lun, President of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Guangzhou Committee, led a delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on July 5. The delegation was warmly received by members of CUHK including Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Wong Kam-fai, Associate Dean (External Affiars) of Engineering; and Prof. Leung Kwong Sak, Associate Director of Institute of Future Cities.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Fok introduced to the delegation the recent developments of CUHK while the delegation gave introductions on the innovation and smart cities projects in Guangzhou. The delegates then visited the Instiute of Future Cities, gaining an in-depth understanding of CUHK's scientific research in smart ciries to explore future collaboration.
The Guangzhou government has been closely cooperating with tertiary institutions in Hong Kong in areas of education and scientific research. Dr. Liu expressed that the Guangzhou government will continue its effort to strengthen the ties in research and education between CUHK and the research organizations in Guangzhou for broadening the scope of and areas for further collaboration development.

Visit of Vice Mayor of Zhuhai Municipal Government
A 7-member delegation led by Ms. Lu Xiaofeng, Vice Mayor of Zhuhai Municipal Government visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on July 11 to learn more about the University's development in scientific research and to explore collaboration opportunities.
The delegation consisted of representatives from Zhuhai Bureau of Commerce and Zhuhai Bureau of Industry and Information Technology. The delegates met with CUHK members including Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Lee Chi Ming, Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). Prof. Chan introduced to the delegation the recent developments of CUHK with focus on the advancement in Biomedical Sciences. The delegation also gained an understanding of the collaboration among industry, academy and research sectors at CUHK and the establishment of innovative synergy and platforms on campus. Discussion was held on future inno-tech collaboration in the Greater Bay Area.
