Fifteen scholars from the 3 universities attended the symposium. CUHK representatives comprised Prof. Leung Mei-yee, Associate Director of General Education and Programme Director of General Education Foundation Programme, Prof. Jimmy Yu, Dean of General Education and Associate Head of United College, Dr Julie Chiu and Dr Wong Wing Hung, Associate Programme Directors of General Education Foundation Programme.
The participants used the time to exchange ideas on topics in relation to general education covering enthusiasm in teaching, teaching method and how to enhance students' engagement. Discussions were also held on how to incorporate green elements into general education programme and to integrate resource of the three universities on general education development.
CUHK, NJU and NCU established the Cross-strait Green University Consortium in 2011 to consolidate resources to drive initiatives that incorporate green concepts into research and education. Under this framework, the 3 universities have started to host seminars, co-organize research teams and exchange teaching experience.
