CUHK Wins the Top Prize at 13th Challenge Cup National Student Competition
CUHK students flared at the 13th Challenge Cup held at Soochow University from 13 to 18 October 2013. We won the top prize for the Hong Kong and Macau Region again this year, becoming the only university in Hong Kong to receive the highest award in the region for 6 consecutive times since the competition accepting participation of Hong Kong tertiary institutions in 1997.
As a bi-annual national competition, the Challenge Cup is known as the "Olympics" in promoting innovation in social science, science and technology for university students in China. This year, six teams of CUHK students participated in the competition and won 3 first prizes, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes.
It is also the first time a participating university from Hong Kong and Macau region received 3 first prize awards in one competition. Students from 11 institutions in Hong Kong and 3 from Macau comprising over 100 students took part in this national event, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Hong Kong, the University of Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, Hong Kong Institute of Education, Open University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Chu Hai College as well as University of Macau, Science and Technology University of Macau and Polytechnic Institute of Macau. Prof. TF Fok, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, attended the competition as the leader of the Hong Kong delegation.

More Winter Interflow Activities Now Open for Application!
It's time for CUHK students to plan for activities in the coming winter term break! The Office of Academic Links (China) is organizing and coordinating a wide range of interflow activities to Mainland China for CUHK students this winter, ranging from voluntary teaching in Yaoshan of Guangdong Province to exploration of scenic spots in the Chang Jiang Three Gorges area.
