The annual Board Meeting of Green University Consortium was held at Nanjing University (NJU) together with a Joint Seminar entitled "Green Atmosphere, Green Ecology" on 8 November. Professor Wong Suk-ying, Associate Vice-President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Mr. Kalvin Lai, Assistant Director (Sustainability) of Campus Planning and Sustainability Office and Dr. George Ma, Assistant Director of the CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change participated in the event on behalf of the University.
Member institutions reported the progress of various collaboration projects under the Consortium at the Board Meeting. Discussion was also held on the details of upcoming activities, including Summer School to be launced among the members. Professor Wong Suk-ying participated in the meeting to devise plans and enhance coordination among the consortium members. In his presentation titled "Promoting Sustainable Development Education", Dr. George Ma talked about CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change at the Seminar, sharing with the participants the role of the museum in the education of sustainable development.
The Cross-Strait Green University Consortium was established by CUHK, NJU and National Central University in 2011 with the aim of consolidating resources and driving initiatives that incorporate green concepts into research and education. The Consortium was expanded to welcome the entry of ZJU, Beijing Normal University and National Cheng Kung University as new member universities in 2016. Member institutions take turns to organize Joint Seminar and Green Competition Camp, as well as promoting green initiatives in green education, research and campus development proactively to accomplish the mission of sustainable development.
