With the aim of enhancing understanding between executives from universities in Mainland China and Hong Kong, and providing knowledge of higher education sector in Hong Kong, OALC organized the Summer Institute for Mainland Higher Education Executives. The activity was held from 21 to 27 July this year.
A total of 38 executives from 9 Mainland universities participated in the program, including Nanjing University, Nankai University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Jaiotong University, Shandong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University. Prof. Gordon Cheung, Associate Vice President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) welcomed the participants at the opening ceremony.
The program consisted of a series of lectures and visits through which participants obtained a better understanding of college system, academic exchange, public relations and communications, student affairs management, human resources, estates management, university library system, alumni affairs, fund-raising, financial aid, admission of postgraduate, financial management in CUHK. The participants also acquired knowledge on the social developments of Hong Kong.
Apart from a valuable opportunity to enhance understanding of the education development of CUHK, the Summer Institute also helped to establish friendship and strengthen interaction between executives of CUHK and its partner universities which paved the way for further collaboration.

鳳召南土引吭鳴,宇內祥雲現九形。
吐露港前藏浩渺,馬鞍山下毓鍾靈。
九賢高校集香港,香港中文聚紫庭。
論討杏壇帷幄策,樹人大業業長青。
