1. Could you share with us the reasons for joining the Postgraduate Student Association of the School of Biomedical Sciences?
I join the Postgraduate Student Association of the School of Biomedical Sciences (PSASBS) is that on one hand, it represents all research postgraduate students of the School in all matters affecting our interests, and provides a channel of communication between the School and the students. I want to make contributions in that respect. On the other hand, I would like to participate more in School affairs so as to know more about the development of our School. Besides, my supervisor strongly encouraged me to join the PSASBS. Therefore I have taken up the post of Vice-Chair of the Association.
2. Being a non-local student, have you encountered any difficulties in adapting the way of life in Hong Kong?
The first two months in Hong Kong were really hard for me. I rented a room of about 5 m2 outside the campus in the first month and it was not easy to enjoy the life here at that time. The food in the student canteens was quite different from that in the mainland; I and my fellow non-local students have to spend some time getting used to it. As a new student, I have to make friends with my labmates and fellow students. Luckily, all the friends I met here are very nice and they helped me a lot in adapting a new life in Hong Kong. I sincerely thank my supervisor and all the friends here.
3. What are your plans after graduation? Will you continue to stay in Hong Kong?
Yet I haven't decided where to go or what kind of job I would choose. Possibly I will continue to do research in colleges or research institutions, but I may choose some other fields or job that I am interested in. I think the most important thing is to do what I like. As for whether I will continue to stay in Hong Kong, I am not sure. I may stay for some time if I can find an interesting job here.
