Pro. Qin Dahe, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director, State Key Laboratory of Cryoshperic Sciences, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from 13 - 19 October as the United College Distinguished Visiting Scholar in 2008-09.
Prof. Qin is an internationally-renowned climatologist and an expert on global changes. Over the past three decades, he has been engaged in cryospheric and global change studies. This year he received the 53rd World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Prize and became the second Chinese recipient of this highest award of WMO. During his visit, Prof. Qin delivered several public lectures and academic seminar. He also met with Prof. Lawrence Lau, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Prof. K.P. Fung, Head of United College and professors of related departments. |
