Simulation of the UN COP 25 on Climate Change - Saturday, January 18, 2020

Date: Saturday, January 18, 2020
Time: 9:30am to 3pm
Venue: Deloitte Offices, 35/F One Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong

The UN Conference of Parties (COP) on climate change held its 25th meeting in December 2019. This follows from the landmark Paris Accord on Climate Change of December 2015 where 160 countries committed to targets to reduce carbon emissions and thus global warming. Hong Kong, for instance, made a commitment to reduce carbon by 20% by 2020.

Inspired by this challenge, we plan to hold our own COP 25 meeting as a simulation exercise for youth in HK on Saturday, January 18. We welcome youth in HK and students from all universities/ colleges/ secondary schools to participate in this Model UN-style simulation of intergovernmental negotiating on climate policy.
