Date:October 12, 2019 Time: 10 AM to 3:30 PM Venue: Deloitte Asia Pacific, 35/F One Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Hong Kong The United Nations will hold a Climate Summit in late September in New York City. We plan to hold our own climate summit in Hong Kong, as an echo event, by inviting environmental activists across the campuses in HK to meet in Admiralty to explore the potential for collective action on climate change. How can we assure that HK meets its commitments for carbon reduction made in the Paris Accords in 2015? We said we'd reduce carbon by 20% by 2020. Will we do it? Who is responsible to achieve this target? Let's do our bit in the coming year! Green groups from all universities and colleges in HK are invited to send representatives and share their ideas for grass roots activities. Individual participants are also welcome. Many self-organizing break-out groups will focus on a broad array of climate topics. Come to the climate summit in HK, meet your counterparts across the campuses, and explore pathways for collective action to turn HK green! We support the YOUNGO, a global youth movement for climate action inder SDG 13 (Climate Action).
