Making Visual Art and Making a Good Living in Digital Hong Kong, Saturday afternoon, September 22, 2018

Date: Saturday afternoon, September 22, 2018
Venue: H6 CONET, G/F, The Center, 99 Queen’s Road Central
A Symposium Organized by the Hong Kong America Center _________________________________________________________

The Hong Kong America Center invites students from fine art, design and culture programs of the universities and colleges in Hong Kong to a symposium featuring leading visual artists in Hong Kong.

Having degrees in fine art, film, or photography may not give you a career path as obvious as graduates with other degrees. However, it does not mean students of visual arts need to seek any work and do their art on the side. There are foundations and other organizations that support young artists and their projects. Art and cultural industries are an increasing part of HK’s service economy. The digital age is changing the way artists work and make a living. How should young artists prepare for, and thrive in, Hong Kong's digital future?

The program will feature successful visual artists and a lawyer practicing in intellectual property and earning from one's creativity. After a free-wheeling Q+A session, we're invited for a special tour at the Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts nearby.
