AIM
This 2-hour webinar course will cover the role of electronic health records (EHRs) and digital documentation, definition and types of incidents including near misses, and adverse events, professional obligations in documentation and potential legal consequence of poor reporting

INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Explain the key advantages and potential challenges of using EHRs over traditional paper records in obstetric setting.

- Define the terms ‘ adverse event’ and ‘near miss’ within the context of maternity care
- Analyse the potential clinical risks to patient safety resulting from incomplete, inaccurate or delayed documentation

- Apply the principles of accurate documentation
