CUHK Students’ Self-funded Attendance at COP29

Please read the following notes before submitting this application form.
1. All CUHK students are welcome to apply for self-funded attendance at COP29.
2. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend a selection interview to be held between 9 and 10 October 2024. Please indicate in Part 3 below your availability for the interview.
3. More than one CUHK students may share the quota and attend part of COP29. Please indicate in Part 4 below your preferred dates.
4. The successful candidates shall be responsible for the costs of the trip. They are welcome to seek funding support internally or externally via other means. Estimated expenses include:
• Return economy airfares: from HK$6,000
• Accommodation: from HK$1,000 (shared room)
• Metro: HK$2 per ride
• Meal: from HK40 per meal
• Total for 6-day attendance (for reference only): from HK$14,000 per person
5. An MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant of HK$5,000 each will be awarded to up to 2 successful candidates who are current MoCC Ambassadors. Please indicate in Part 1 below whether or not you are a current MoCC Ambassador.
6. Participation in COP29 for at least 4 full days under the supervision of the Conference Mentor and volunteering in post-conference follow-up activities organized by CUHK can potentially qualify the student to fulfil the “Action Item” equivalent to SDG-SE or SDG-VA in the SDG Study Scheme (https://sdg.oge.cuhk.edu.hk/en/sdgs-study-scheme/overview/).
