博群跨代共融計劃 —— 拇指琴工作坊 I·CARE Cross-generational Integration Programme - Kalimba Workshop

Lunar New Year is approaching. However, family gatherings will be heavily limited due to the epidemic which otherwise makes us be more appreciative of the good time spent with our family members. Do you want to seize this opportunity to cultivate new hobbies and strengthen the relationship with your “senior-aged folks”?

The Cross-generational Integration Programme rolled out by this Centre aims at facilitating interaction between the aged and the young, so as to promote mutual understanding and respect across different generations.  Subsequent to the “Pastel Nagomi Art Workshop”, the programme will organise the “Kalimba Workshop” to be led by an experienced tutor. It will allow CUHK students and their elderly family members to learn together the basic skills of playing Kalimba and facilitate cross-generational integration through music. Details are as follows:

Date : 28 February 2021 (Sunday) and 7 March 2021 (Sunday)
Time : 10:00 am - 12:00 noon
Format: Online workshop (the Zoom link will be sent to successful applicants via email)
Language: Cantonese
Fee: Free of charge
Quota: 10 families
Deadline: 15 February 2021 (Monday)

Remarks:
1. Each student should pair up with one elderly family member aged 55 or above.
2. Confirmation email will be sent to successful applicants on or before 16 February 2021 (Tuesday).
3. Successful applicants should come to this Centre in person to collect the Kalimba and put down a deposit within the specific period. Details will be contained in the confirmation email.
4. To achieve the best teaching and learning outcomes, participants should turn on the computer camera throughout the workshop.
