Amid the global resurgence of anti‑feminism, it is time to critically engage with the manifold forms of digital feminisms, particularly within Asian contexts. We present the Digital Feminisms in Asia: Cultural Studies Postgraduate Symposium (14 November 2025) as a platform for reflection and dialogue. The symposium opens with a keynote titled “Against On‑Demandness and Objective Neutrality: Feminist Media from the Asian Diaspora” by Prof. Feng‑Mei Heberer, author of Asians on Demand: Mediating Race in Video Art and Activism and Associate Professor in the Department of Cinema Studies at New York University. Following the keynote, two RPg panels will showcase the latest research on the critical intersections of media, technology, and feminisms across Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and India. These presentations will be discussed by Prof. Lucetta Kam (Department of Humanities and Creative Writing, Hong Kong Baptist University) and Prof. Ling Han (Gender Studies Programme, The Chinese University of Hong Kong). Date: 14 Nov 2025 Time: 2-6:30 pm Venue: SWH 1 (G/F), Fung King Hey Building, CUHK The symposium is co‑organised by the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, the Digital Feminisms in Asia RIH Interdisciplinary Initiatives Project, and the Centre for Cultural Studies, and is sponsored by the Research Institute for the Humanities, CUHK.
