The Research Programme for Lingnan Culture is delighted to welcome Prof. Zuo Pengjun, Professor of Faculty of Arts of South China Normal University, as the Research Programme for Lingnan Culture Visiting Scholar. He was invited to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong for a month and to deliver two public lectures to share his insights of Lingnan culture with CUHK students and scholars.

The Lingnan Culture Studies Public Lecture & Research Paper Competition 2023 Award Ceremony, organized by the Research Programme for Lingnan Culture, Institute of Chinese Studies, CUHK, was held on 25 April 2024 and drew over a hundred CUHK colleagues and students, alumni, and members of the public. The Lingnan Culture Studies Research Paper Competition 2023 aims to promote international academic research on Lingnan culture, as well as to encourage local and overseas doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows who are aspiring to conduct in-depth research in the field. The competition received up to 30 research papers, which are subject to assessment by the selection committee and 8 award winners were selected.

Mr. Ni Junming, Senior Librarian of Special Collectionsof the Macau University of Science and Technology Library, spoke on the topic ‘Preservation, Compilation, and Publication of Guangdong’s Ancient Texts” in the lecture of the Research Programme for Lingnan Culture - Public Lecture Series 2024 on 26 April. Mr. Ni introduced the collections of Guangdong's ancient texts and revealed the compilation and publication of the ancient books.
