Top-up Undergraduate Degree Programmes accredited QF Level 5 |
Two
Top-up Undergraduate Degree Programmes, offered by the School and Flinders
University, Australia, have been accredited at Qualification Framework (QF)
Level 5 by The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational
Qualifications. These programmes are Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and
Bachelor of Creative Arts (Digital Media).

Students showcase their talent at Fashion Show |
Nineteen graduates of Higher Diploma in Fashion Design and Product Development* and Higher Diploma in Fashion Design and Business showcased their 72 pieces of creative work at the annual CUSCS Fashion Show on 8 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The show was staged during the Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

"Design Join" - Higher Diploma Programme Graduation Exhibition |
The
"Design Join" Exhibition was held from 31 May to 3 June at the InnoCentre,
Kowloon Tong. Some 130 booths were on display to showcase the talent of
graduates of Higher Diploma Programme in Commercial Design, Higher Diploma
Programme in Fashion Design and Product Development* and Higher Diploma
Programme in Fashion Design and Business.

A new book unveiled: Like@流行文化 |
CUSCS
published a book entitled "Like@流行文化" in June. The book
represents the joint editorial efforts of our Higher Diploma students and
lecturers. In this book, students share their personal experience and
adventures, as well as their views and insights on trendy topics in pop culture
such as Japanese animation and comics, micro movies and "re-creation".

CUSCS Open Day, info days and parents talks |
CUSCS held its Open Day on 7 June at the Tseung Kwan O Learning Centre. Exhibitions and talks were held to showcase our students' achievements. The public took a closer look at the School's facilities, including hotel training facilities and the Fashion Project Room. Furthermore, the first Parents' Talk of the 2014 series was held on the same occasion. Dr. Chui Yat-hung, Head of the Social Sciences and Education Division, held a talk on "Career Planning" to enlighten parents on how they could help their children in career development.

CUSCS participated in Education Expos |
The School participated in the "Information Expo on Multiple Pathways 2014" organised by the Education Bureau on 17-18 May at the Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. At a sharing session in the Expo, Dr. Vaughan Mak, Head of Training and Development of the School, was invited to be the facilitator while Yau Sing-ho, a student of Higher Diploma Programme in Recreation and Leisure Management and a former member of the Hong Kong Table Tennis Youth Squad, shared his experience of school life at CUSCS and how he managed his studies and sports training.

Graduation Ceremony for the Bachelor of Nursing Degree |
The Graduation Ceremony for the Bachelor of Nursing Degree Programme, jointly offered by the School and La Trobe University in Australia, was held on 25 June at the Lecture Theatre, Shaw College, CUHK. Prof. William McGuiness, Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, La Trobe University, and Dr. Raymond Ng, Associate Director of the School, officiated at the ceremony and gave their best wishes to the 39 graduates.

Summer programme organised for foreign students |
CUSCS organised a summer programme themed "Understanding Contemporary China and Hong Kong" for 15 students from the United States and Canada. The programme covered selected topics of contemporary China and included local excursions. Higher Diploma students of the School served as ambassadors of Hong Kong.

Alumni Sharing |
The CUSCS Alumni Association invited media veteran Mr. Tse Chi-fung to deliver a talk on "Stories behind the News". In the sharing session, he shared with students and alumni his 30-year experience working in the media industry.
