| S.H.Ho College Appoints Thirteen Honorary Fellows | |
At S.H. Ho College's 6th Anniversary High Table Dinner-cum-Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony held on 26th September, honorary fellowships were conferred on thirteen distinguished persons including Prof. Yang Chen Ning, 1957 Nobel Laureate in Physics; Prof. Liu Mingkang, former Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission and Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration of CUHK; and Prof. Jao Tsung-I, the world-renowned scholar of Chinese and fine arts.

| SHHO General Education – Capstone Course 4010 Kicks Off | |
It has been three years since S.H. Ho College admitted its first cohort of students back in 2010, some of whom will become the first ever SHHO graduates within the academic year 2012-13. It indicates the commencement of the second part of SHHO's General Education – Capstone Course GESH4010 Work and Productive Life. It is hoped that through reading, discussion and writing, students can be equipped with concepts and methods for critical reflections on issues related to their career and to leading a productive life after their graduation.

| SHHO Fellow Prof. Dennis Lo Won Ernesto Illy Trieste Science Prize | |
Prof. Dennis Lo Yuk-ming, Li Ka Shing Professor of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Chemical Pathology at CUHK and Fellow of S.H. Ho College, has received the 2012 Ernesto Illy Trieste Science Prize from President Hu Jintao for work on non-invasive prenatal diagnosis. Prof. Lo is the first Hong Kong scholar ever to receive the honour.

| SHHO Invited World-Renowned Scholar Prof. Jao Tsung-I as Honorary Fellow | |
Prof. Samuel Sun Sai-ming, the Master of S.H. Ho College, presented the first Honorary Fellowship to Prof. Jao Tsung-I on 15 August, 2012. Prof. Jao wrote the Chinese character "home" in calligraphy as a gift to the College in expressing his support for SHHO's concept of home. | |

| Delegation from Peking University and Northwest A&F University visited SHHO respectively | |
Delegation from Peking University, led by Prof. Ye Jingyi, Vice Chairman of University Council, visited S.H. Ho College on 5th October 2012 to learn about the College's system of student financial aid as well as its managerial experience. One week earlier on 26 September, representatives of Northwest A&F University, including Prof. Zhang Guangqiang, Director of School Affairs Commission; Prof. Zhao Zhong, Managing Vice President, and other 10 guests also paid a visit to the College.

| Exchange Students Arrived at SHHO | |
S.H. Ho College organized an orientation lunch for incoming exchange students on 6 September 2012. Some 80 students from USA, Beijing, Australia, Germany, Holland, Mexico, Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, Sweden, Swiss, Austria and UK gathered at Chan Chun Ha Hall, which was a characteristic example of SHHO's multi-national, multi-cultural and multi-linguistic environment.

| Sidelight on Matriculation Ceremony | |
The first student set foot in the board room, followed by another nine black gowns. Startled by the sublimity of the event, they looked about the setting in round-eyed wonder to figure out where to place their focus. Haven't I previewed the whole process at the briefing next room? Why am I still feeling all at sea? I see three rows of chairs, but which should I sit in?
