Not too Late to Dream
Every step they walk on campus leaves a footprint of pursuing dreams.
26 September is a day to remember as five residents of the SAGE Madam Ho Sin Hang Home for the Aged, who were older than 90 year-old, fulfilled their long awaited dream on CUHK campus. They were deprived of education in teenage due to the Second World War, and they spent their whole life making a living for their beloved families. Knowing their unfulfilled dream, students of S.H. Ho College initiated a one-day simulation programme to help them experience the life as a university student.

Snowy Footprints Left by Arctic Explorers of S.H. Ho College
Zoey Cheung, a student of CUHK Chinese Language and Literature, remembered that the Arctic Expedition Team needed to conducted onshore researches twice every day. One day the weather deteriorated and they had to wait till 10 p.m. for their field trip onshore. As the temperature dropped below 0 °C, they got together like penguins to keep warm. Singing Cantonese pop songs aloud, they boosted the team's morale and kept themselves awake until the completion of the Arctic field study. Another scenario was an ice shelf collapse of Sermitsaq Glacier when the exploration vessel sailed close to it. Zoey bore in mind the encounter in nature, 'A glacier formed in a hundred thousand years could collapse in a blink of an eye.'

SHHO alumnus Spike Li was just graduated from Department of Sociology at CUHK. He took part in the summer internship programme organized by the College. Working as an editorial intern at the Chinese University Press, his major duties included: editing and proofreading of manuscripts, commenting on manuscript reviews, and introducing books on the WeChat platform. The Lingnan Style
On 24 September, a number of S.H. Ho College students gathered in a tranquil corner of Ho Sin Hang Hall to observe Prof. Ng Yuet-lau's virtuosity in Chinese painting, who demonstrated mastery in drawing fruits and bamboo leaves with a blend of firm and flexible brushwork. Prof. Ng was exposed to the art of Chinese painting at her early age. In a bid to help the young generation taste the delight of Chinese painting, Prof. Ng conducted a workshop at the College and demonstrated the painting skills at the cultural dinner. A staff of the College played several songs like Autumn Moon over the Calm Lake and High Mountains and Flowing Waters with Guzheng accompaniment. Each musical segment nicely set off the exquisite brushwork of Prof. Ng.

Excel in Sportsmanship
S.H. Ho College athletes have achieved brilliant results in competitions locally and nationally. CUHK Women's Rowing Team, among which was our College student Lau Yuen Yee, was awarded Champion in the Women's 8cox event in the 1st All China Universities Rowing Championships 2015. Rachel Leung won the individual champion with a record breaking performance in 50m in butterfly stroke in the CUHK swimming gala. The results not only represent the hardship the athletes underwent during the intensive training, it involves sportsmanship and perseverance that they have embodied.
