An Artistic Banker's Reminiscence of the Past:
Art Exhibition of Prof. Liu Mingkang at S.H. Ho College

S.H. Ho College held a painting exhibition entitled "Reminiscence of the Past" of Prof. Liu Mingkang, Honorary Fellow of S.H. Ho College and former Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, from 28 November to 12 December 2012. Through 29 paintings, Prof. Liu depicts his life in the mainland in the 1970s and his recent experience in different corners of the world. The selected works include A Journey to Jerusalem, At My Wits' End and Recollections on the Mekong River. Two of the works, namely, Embracing Tranquillity and Nature and Reflections, completed during his stay at S.H. Ho College, were presented to the College to commemorate its establishment.

Run to See the World:
Xiamen International Marathon-cum-Cultural Visit

At the beginning of 2013, seven staff members and students of SHHO Runner Force programme, together with 20 veteran marathon runners from Hong Kong, participated in the Xiamen International Marathon, one of the leading marathon competitions in China. Mr. Kwan Ho Cheung, student of System Engineering and Engineering Management, finished the 10km race in 50 minutes and became champion of the group.


From Bricks to House:
Dormitory Built by SHHO Students in Uganda Completed
The glare from the sun dazzled students and professors, but the high spirit was even more dazzling. Brick by brick they built walls with mortar, sweat and songs – It was summer 2011 when 15 students of S.H. Ho College went to Uganda with Prof. Joseph J.Y Sung to build a student dormitory for the Watoto children's village. Now, one year later, the completed building is ready for Uganda's future leaders to live and grow in.

Logos Fest Displaying 300 Freshmen's Logos Production
The annual Logos Fest of S.H. Ho College took place in Chan Chun Ha Hall from 9 to 14 November, 2012. Logos Fest is an exhibition that displays College General Education's Logos Production by freshers to express and explain their ideas on dreams, college life and university life.

High Table Dinner on All Hallows' Eve:
100 SHHO Students Awarded Scholarships
S.H. Ho College held its High Table Dinner-cum-Scholarship Presentation Ceremony on 31 Oct 2012, All Hallows' Eve. Scholarships were awarded to 100 SHHO students. 

Cultural Dinner with Cantonese Opera
International students and exchange students had come early to take seats that had the best view of the stage. Local students eagerly awaited the show with cameras in hands. Cantonese opera Legend of the White Snake – Stealing Immortal Herbs by The Young Academy Cantonese Opera Troupe was performed during the College's Cultural Dinner on 14 November 2012. The music of traditional Chinese instruments breathed an air of classic elegance to the contemporary Ho Sin Hang Hall.

SHHO's Got Talent
To celebrate the 6th Anniversary of S.H. Ho College, the SHHOW 2012 was held on 15 November. The self-created compound word SHHOW combines 'SHHO' and 'show' to indicate a talent show organized by students with the support of College. It has become a tradition to celebrate the College's birthday with students' showcasing their talent and innovation every November.

During the quarter, S.H. Ho College has received hundreds of visitors from far and near who were eager to learn about CUHK's collegiate system and SHHO as a new college.
