Administrative Staff Embrace AI: Sharing Session on Basic AI Use
In a joint initiative, the ITSC, the Library, and Human Resources Office held two very successful AI training sessions on 15 Aug, bringing together nearly 100 administrative staff from different departments.
What Covered
The Library highlighted the responsible and ethical use of AI, covering best practices, the importance of fact-checking AI-generated content, and understanding the technology's capabilities and limitations. Additionally, ITSC provided hands-on demonstrations of commonly used Generative AI tools, showcasing how participants can leverage these tools for information search and summarization, creative ideation, and various work applications.
Positive Feedback
Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressing appreciation for the informative programs and practical examples presented. Some also voiced enthusiasm to learn more about AI tools and explore their potential applications within their respective roles.
Next Session
The next AI training session will tentatively be hosted in Q4 2024. The Human Resources Office will announce the details through its quarterly Staff Training and Development Calendar email in due course. Stay tuned!
