Prof Suk-Ying WONG, Associate Vice-President of CUHK, Professor in the Department of Sociology and Director of the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, has been appointed Master of CW Chu College for a period of four years, with effect from 1 July 2021. The College is delighted to welcome our new Master.
Prof WONG obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of Liverpool and her PhD from Stanford University. She was on the faculty of several higher-education institutions in the United States and Japan before joining CUHK in 1997. She was appointed one of the Founding Fellows of CW Chu College in 2011, and the first College Dean of Students from 2012 to 2016. She then became the Warden of the College Hostel in 2014. She has been committed to the pastoral care of our students and has played an instrumental role in the planning and development of the College.Prof WONG said, ‘I am honoured to be offered the position as Master of CW Chu College and I have witnessed the rapid growth and many breakthroughs of the College since its establishment. The College has distinguished itself by its trust in fostering students' personal commitment and their sense of responsibility and integrity.
