CCOUC Presents Temperature Impact Research at Oxford

The director of the Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response, Prof. Emily Chan, was invited to give a seminar in the Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS) on 13 November 2012. The seminar is part of the Oxford Academic Medical Forum which targets clinicians-in-training to be involved at all levels of medical research. Prof. Chan made a presentation on "Evidence-based medical humanitarian action: What have we learnt regarding temperature impact on Asian urban health outcomes?", and shared with the participating junior researchers pieces of scientific evidence that advance global understanding of the health impact of climate change in Asian metropolitan.

During the visit to Oxford, Prof. Chan and the CCOUC team also met with the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine and the Centre for Continuing Education to discuss collaboration in research, development of online educational programmes, and study exchange initiatives. A new website (www.ccouc.ox.ac.uk) will be launched soon, signifying an ever-strengthening relationship between CUHK and Oxford University.
