The programming team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has achieved High Honors in the 48th ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) World Finals held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The team consists of three undergraduate students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering: Hsieh Chong Ho, Ng Hiu Tsun, and Wai Ka Hei.
Established in 1970, the ICPC is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming contest in the world. Every year, over 50,000 students from more than 3,000 universities in 111 countries participate in the competition. Among the 141 top programming teams that successfully advanced to compete in the world finals this year, the CUHK Programming Team, the only qualified team from Hong Kong, won High Honors with an overall rank of 24th in this highly competitive international contest.
