Vote of Thanks to Prof. Chan Pang Shing

The Department would like to express its gratitude to Prof. Chan Ping Shing, who retired in August 2025, for his contributions over the years.

Promotion

Prof. Tony Sit was promoted to Professor, with effect from 1 August 2025.

New Staff

Dr. Lin Yingxin joined the department as Assistant Professor on 15 July 2025. She obtained her bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. degree in Statistics and Mathematics from The University of Sydney, Australia. Before joining the department, she was a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Biostatistics at Yale School of Public Health. Her research interests include big data, computational biology and bioinformatics, data integration, statistical genomics and statistical machine learning.

Miss Wong Ka Yin Emily joined the department as Project Coordinator in August 2025.

Miss Cheung Cheuk Laam Vanessa joined the department as Project Coordinator in October 2025.

Mr. Wu Chun Shing Jason joined the department as Assistant Computer Officer in April 2025.
