Colleagues from School of Public Health and Department of Community and Family Medicine Won Best Paper Prize and Best Poster Presentation Prize at the 2009 Hong Kong College of Community Medicine Annual Meeting

Colleagues from School of Public Health and Department of Community and Family Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong won the Best Paper Prize and the Best Poster Presentation Prize at the 2009 Hong Kong College of Community Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting, held on 14 June 2009.

Professor Emily Ying-yang CHAN, Assistant Professor of School of Public Health and Department of Community and Family Medicine, was awarded the 2009 Dr Kathleen So's Presidential Prize for Best Paper for her paper on 'An Analysis of Community Emergency Help-seeking Behaviours during Elevated Temperatures in a Chinese Population using The General Additive (Poisson) Temperature Outcome Model.' Other authors include Professor William GOGGINS, Ms Jacqueline KIM, Mr Timothy MA and Professor Sian GRIFFITHS.

In additional, Professor Sian GRIFFITHS, Director of School of Public Health and Chairman of Department of Community and Family Medicine was awarded the College Prize for Best Poster Presentation. Co-authors include Dr Gemma YANG GAO, Professor Liping LI and Professor Nathan CONGDON and the awarded poster is entitled 'Impact of Migration on Adolescent Health and Health Behaviours in Rural Southern China'.
