The College expressed its heartfelt congratulations to Trustee Dr. CHU Ka-lok Peter for his being conferred honorary fellowship by the University at its Sixteenth Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony held on 22 May 2017 (Monday), in recognition of Dr. Chu's remarkable contributions to the University and the community. Dr. Chu is Chairman of the Alpha General (Holdings) Ltd and President of the Alpha Appliances Ltd. He has for years dedicated to charity and community service and has been a staunch supporter of CUHK and especially Shaw College. Apart from making generous donations to the College in support of its development, he has served as a Trustee of the College since 2004 and is the Convener of the Task Force on Energy Conservation and Task Force on the Study Programme to Japan. In recognition of his contributions to society, Dr. Chu was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government and the World Outstanding Chinese Award in 2006.
