Member of the National Academy of Sciences, USA Winslow Briggs and his wife visited SHHO on 12 November 2012. An international leader in plant molecular biology, Prof. Briggs is currently the Director Emeritus of Carnegie Institute of Washington, Department of Plant Biology at Stanford University. During the visit, with fond memory of his old Harvard days, Prof. Briggs expressed complimentary appreciation of the founding and development of the S.H. Ho College.
It is followed by a visit of seven Singaporean high school teachers and principals together with the Vice Principal of Queen's College, Hong Kong on 16 November. The guests were delighted to know more about CUHK'S college system and were amazed at the superb facilities of the College.
November 22 was a busy day for the College. Four buses of 188 retired teachers from Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Macao arrived at SHHO. Prof. Samuel Sun explained to the retired teachers what college system is, how new colleges like SHHO came about, and the uniqueness of college general education.
Brown University is one of the College's most important partners in exchange programme. To enhance mutual understanding, Brown's new President Dr. Christina Paxson and Vice President Mr. Ronald Margolin paid a visit to S.H. Ho Collge on 29 November. In addition to Master Sammuel Sun's introducing the College to the visitors and discussion on future potential cooperations, the College made a special arrangement that Dr. Paxson and Mr. Margolin met with exchange students from Brown University and those SHHO students who have been and will be soon going on exchange to Brown. Visitors were led by the students to tour around the campus.
