During the activity, students had a grasp of different assistive tools used by the physically handicapped. Under the guidance of the instructors, they simulated wheelchair users to shop around Lai Kok Estate and to use the automatic teller machine. They were enabled to experience the daily life of wheelchair users and to review the barrier-free access facilities in the community.
A Walk in Community with I·CARE has come to an end for this term. This Centre will organise further sessions in the second term to allow students to understand different local societies and the new initiatives on developing a sustainable community. Stay tuned for our announcements.
