CUHK's New Institutional Research Information System is Coming!
The CUHK is implementing a university-level Institutional Research Information System (IRIS) project, which aims to create a one-stop platform for effectively managing research-related information comprising grants, projects, research outputs, knowledge transfer activities, prizes, and media coverage/contribution. The system will be ready for soft launch in January 2025 and become a single source of truth for all purposes, including staff reviews. It will also serve as an institutional research information repository to replace the research output module of the current Academic Information Management System (AIMS).
The project team, comprising the University Planning Office, Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services, Information Technology Services Centre, CUHK Library and Human Resources Office, has created an IRIS Researcher Profile for each of the current teaching staff, and populated it with existing data from various legacy systems/databases, including AIMS (research outputs module and grants module), SPUS, and various Knowledge Transfer Event databases.
