2010 was a significant year for the School as it celebrated its 45th anniversary. Followed by series of exciting events and activities spanning from last April, the celebration concluded last December. Sword of Vengeance, the historical drama adapted from William Shakespeare's Hamlet by Prof Richard M W HO, was held on 27th to 29th November, 2010. The drama, performed by handpicked CUHK & CUSCS students, was graced with the presence of guests including Prof MA Lin and Prof Ambrose KING, former CUHK Vice-Chancellors; Prof LEUNG Yuen Sang, Head of Chung Chi College; Prof HSIUNG Ping Chen, Dean of Arts, CUHK; Mrs Irene YAU, former Director of Information Services, HKSAR and Ms Michelle LI, Deputy Secretary for Education, HKSAR.
Another highlight of the celebration was the three popular Leader Forums held last November and December. Speakers of various expertise included Mr Dick LEE, former Commissioner of Police, HKSAR; Mrs Anson CHAN, former Chief Secretary for Administration, HKSAR and former LegCo member, as well as CUSCS alumnus and renowned designer Dr KAN Tai Keung. They delivered insightful speeches and exchanged ideas with the attendants. All the forums were well attended and ended with eager responses from the audience. The celebration came to a heartwarming conclusion when the guests, partners and staff of the School gathered at the 45th Anniversary Banquet held on 8th December, 2010. We were happy to have the presence of Prof Kenneth YOUNG and Prof Jack C Y CHENG, Pro-Vice-Chancellors of CUHK; Prof Andrew C F CHAN, Chairman of the CUHK Advisory Board of Continuing and Professional Studies and other honourable guests who attended the banquet and shared the joyful moment with us.
