Painting, building walls and cleaning building exteriors used to be done manually, CUHK research team has developed an automated cable-driven robotic system that can build walls of specific curvatures and geometric shapes as required by architects. The robot has been put into operation previously to rebuild the recycling garden on campus. Professor Darwin Lau Tat-ming, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering and the developer of the robotic system is introducing the innovation in this interview.
