An in-depth historical and cultural tour to Sham Shui Po

To welcome new students of MA Programme in Comparative and Public History, the Programme and its Alumni Association co-organized a history and cultural tour to Sham Shui Po on 21 September 2014.

The tour was well-received with over 54 participants. Under the guidance of Dr Joseph Ting, former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of History and Dr Ma Muk Chi, Programme Director of the MA Programme, the participants deepened their understanding on the social life and local culture. The tour also provided a chance for new students and graduates to meet and to mingle with each other.

The tour started off by visiting Jao Tsung-I Academy, proceeded to Mei Ho House and the former site of New Asia College in Kweilin Street. The participants then visited Sham Shui Po and its surrounding attractions. After a long day, they enjoyed their dinner at the SCR Clubhouse in CUHK.

Participants were much attracted by the introduction given by Dr. Joseph Ting at Jao Tsung-I Academy Participants were much attracted by the introduction given by Dr. Joseph Ting at Jao Tsung-I Academy
