Care for the Society

Along with a major goal to promote alumni fellowship, many alumni associations have also dedicated themselves to care for the individuals in need and the society at-large.

Actively engaged in promoting the development of social entrepreneurship, the Federation of Alumni Associations of CUHK organized 2 seminars on social entrepreneurship and 1 visit to a social enterprise in last year alone.

To care for the senior citizens of the society, Shaw College Alumni Association arranged an elderly home visit in May and celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival with them. In celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival with the old peoples who are living alone, another elderly home visit will be held on 26 September.

To advocate the cause of helping the underprivileged in the Mainland, the MBA Alumni Association appeals its alumni to support Sin Kai Funds Ltd's charity mooncake sale which raises funds for school-building in the poverty-stricken area in Guizhou, China. To lend a helping help, please visit http://www.cumba-alumni.org.hk/news/2009/aug/8/mooncake.html for details.
