During the visit, the delegation toured around the core laboratories and animal holding facilities in the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building, followed with Prof. Jiang's presentation on "Drug Discovery from Natural Compounds in China" which was well attended not only by our staff and student members but also representatives from the Chinese Medicine Division of the Department of Health, HKSAR Government. Afterwards, the delegates held a round-table discussion with our School representatives including Prof. Chan Wai-Yee, Prof. Cho Chi-Hin, Prof. Fung Kwok-Pui, Prof. Franky L. Chan, Prof. Christopher H.K. Cheng, Prof. Kenneth K.H. Lee and Prof. Yung Wing-Ho during which the future plans for mutual research collaborations were explored. At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Jiang Jian-dong and Prof. Chan Wai-Yee signed the MOU on behalf of the two institutions.
The visit and the signing of the MOU not only strengthened the academic bondage between the two parties but also marked a good start for promoting research collaborations especially in drug development.
