New Higher Diploma Programmes Popular among Secondary School Graduates

The School has been offering full-time Higher Diploma programmes to secondary school leavers since 2002, in support of the government's efforts to enhance access to higher education in Hong Kong. The increasing number of students admitted in recent years is testimony to our high quality and commitment to excellence.

In the 2010/11 academic year, we are continuing to offer a diversity of Higher Diploma programmes, with a total of 25 including two that are newly introduced: the Higher Diploma in Multimedia and Creative Advertising and the Higher Diploma in Trilingual Studies (English-Chinese-Japanese/Korean) for Business. Our programmes span a comprehensive range of disciplines from design and creative media to business and management, information technology, languages and communication, the social sciences and health care.

On August 4 2010, when the HKCEE results were released, our learning centres were fully packed with secondary school graduates desperate to apply. Long queues formed outside our Mongkok Enrolment Centre, and some students had to come back the next day. The number of applications received on that day alone was more than 50% higher than the same day last year.

On August 4 this year, queues of candidates formed outside our Mongkok Enrolment Centre after the HKCEE results were released.
