Dr Tzu-leung Ho, Chairman of the Committee of Overseers of S.H. Ho College, was honourable speaker of the event. He addressed the audience, especially freshmen that have joined SHHO since last September, on the story of his father in whose name S.H. Ho College was founded, and how he studied and worked hard to set up a major bank. Dr Tzu-leung Ho said that the College is one of the few educational institutions that took the lead in practicing communal dining. He hoped students in this environment can learn sharing, networking and getting along with one another. He also reminded students of giving back to the community and the world after their graduation.
Followed by Dr Ho's speech was the Scholarship Presentation Ceremony presided by Prof. Ge Wei, Chairman of Scholarships, Awards, Financial Aids and Grants Committee and Fellow of SHHO. Around 100 students were awarded different categories of scholarships. The recipient of Dr and Madam Tzu-leung Ho Scholarship for Distinguished Medical Student Miss Chow Yin Ting gave thanksgiving note on behalf of her fellow students.
