| Delegation Visit of the School of Medicine, Shenzhen University | |

Following the last delegation visit of Shenzhen University (SZU) and the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Faculty of Medicine, CUHK and School of Medicine, Shenzhen University on 16 January 2012, the latter led by Prof. Wang Tian-fu, Associate Dean (Research), Prof. Liu Zhi-gang, Associate Dean (Education), Prof. Zhang Jiang, Associate Dean (Administration), together with five academics, paid a follow-up visit to the School of Biomedical Sciences on 16 March 2012 to further explore academic and research collaborative opportunities with our School members. During the visit, the representatives from the School of Medicine of SZU and our School members including Prof. Chan Wai-Yee, SBS Director; Prof. Cho Chi-Hin, Associate Director (Research); Prof. Franky L. Chan, Chief of Cancer & Inflammation Program; Prof. Yung Wing-Ho, Chief of Neuro-degeneration, -development & Repair Program; Prof. Christopher H.K. Cheng, Chief of Reproduction, Development & Endocrinology Program; Prof. Kenneth K.H. Lee, Chief of Stem Cell & Regeneration Program; and Prof. Huang Yu, Chief of Vascular & Metabolic Biology Program briefed each other on the recent developments of and the major research directions and projects being undertaken by both Schools. The visit further enhanced the mutual understanding and strengthened the academic bondage between the two Schools which will in turn facilitate any forms of research collaborations (e.g. joint applications for national major research grants). |
