More than 90 colleagues have participated in the workshops. The feedback received was encouraging. Participants affirmed the benefits and values of a positive workplace and articulated how the three factors of "team", "management" and "work" played their role in cultivating the positive workplace. The workshops served as a forum for participants from different departments/units to share their experience in managing workplace conflicts and for enhancement of communication skills.
Two get-together sessions (focus group meetings) were held in July and August respectively for participants who attended the PWSD briefing/workshops in the first half of 2014 and the representatives of staff associations/union to share their thoughts on charting the PWSD initiatives in 2014-15. The thoughts and development of the PWSD initiatives were recapitulated in the get-together sessions. As a new theme for staff support, PWSD provides a framework to synergize the EAP support, training initiatives and other resources already in place in the University.
Participants of the workshops and the get-together sessions supported the University's efforts in promoting the PWSD and offered precious input for different initiatives. Spurred on the positive responses, a series of initiatives gearing towards a positive and productive working environment will be launched in the coming year.
