Korean Speech Contest 2010

 The 6th Korean Speech Contest was successfully held on 11th December, 2010 at the School's Central Learning Centre. The contest was divided into two categories, namely Speech and Poem Reading. A total of 14 candidates demonstrated their language skills in front of a panel of judges comprising representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, Korean Residents Association Hong Kong, Ewha Womans University, Konkuk University Language Institute, City University of Hong Kong and our School. Not only did the contestants demonstrate their well-groomed Korean speaking skills, but they also showed enthusiasm for the language. The winner of Speech went to Ms CHUNG Wing Lam, while Mr LUO Xiao was awarded the winner in Poem Reading.

The Contest was supported by a number of Korean organizations including Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, Korea Foundation, The Korean Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong and Korea Tourism Organization (HK). It was firstly held by our School in 2005 and became an annual event providing Korean language learners a platform to enhance their Korean presentation skills. It has become one of the most important Korean cultural activities in Hong Kong.

Dr Victor LEE, Director of the School presented the trophy to CHUNG Wing Lam, the winner of Speech.

Mr MIN Kyung Ho, Deputy Consul General, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea presented the trophy to LUO Xiao, the winner of Poem Reading.
