Dietary Westernization in Two Generations of Hong Kong Chinese Women

Dietary transition is apparent in Chinese population along with globalization. Previous studies indicated that dietary pattern plays an important role in women's health. Changes in dietary pattern from traditional style may induce positive or negative effects on health.

This study recruited about 100 mother-daughter pairs from an on-going cohort study undertaken by the Centre of Research and Promotion of Women's Health. Questionnaire interviews were conducted to assess participant's dietary and lifestyle patterns. This study aims to understand the association of dietary westernization between the two generations and to identify appropriate strategies for promotion of healthy diet within families.
