"SWAP" Programme successfully concluded for the third year

Twenty Higher Diploma students completed 120 hours of voluntary service and gained hands-on service experience under the 3rd "Serve with a Purpose" Programme (SWAP) organised by CUSCS, St. James' Settlement and VISA Hong Kong.

Under the programme, selected students are assigned to different service units of St. James' Settlement to provide 120 hours of voluntary service. Upon completion, each student will receive HK$10,000 as tuition support.

Chung Wai-kok, a student of Higher Diploma in Chinese Journalism, was assigned to serve in the Hong Kong House of Stories.  "I've learnt more about social problems in Hong Kong and my communication skills have been substantially enhanced," Wai-kok said.  With his outstanding performance, Wai-kok has been offered a job at St. James' Settlement and he plans to gain working experiences before pursuing a bachelor degree.
