Professor Poon Wai-yin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, and Professor Ho Puay-peng, Chairman of Advisory Board of Continuing and Professional Studies, officiated at the occasion. The three keynote speakers were Professor Alvin Leung, Dean of Faculty of Education and Professor of Department of Educational Psychology, CUHK, Professor Simon Lu, President of Association of Continuing Education of Colleges and Universities in Taiwan, and Dr. Genky Zhang, Associate President of Hay Group Greater China.
Professor Alvin Leung delivered a talk on "Lifelong Education and Career Development: Perspectives from Academia." He highlighted that "Career Development" is gaining popularity in Hong Kong. He hoped the general public could recognise that success could be achieved through multiple pathways to allow one to develop and value one's potential. The topic of Professor Lu's presentation was "Challenges for a New Era: the Organizational Innovation of Continuing Education". Professor Lu took "Mobile Office" as an example to illustrate the point that innovation and creativity should take place progressively and meet market needs. Dr. Zhang delivered a talk on "Transformation from Middle to Top Executives: Case Studies of Successful Career Development in Corporate World". He said that middle executives could transform to top executives if they could change their managerial concepts, time management and supervisory skills.
