Winning Praise

This year's Hong Kong Book Fair had a special significance for Wong Chun-yin, graduate of the Higher Diploma Programme in Commercial Design, whose first book 《開枱喇!》(Let's Play Mahjong) was on sale during the event. He beat thousands of candidates to become one of the eight winners of the "3rd Young Writer Debut Competition". "It is incredible! This gives me great satisfaction when I see readers flip through and purchase my book," Chun-yi said. He gave special thanks to the School for the comprehensive programme which inspired and helped him acquire different design skills. He is now studying the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication Design) Top-up Degree Programme jointly offered by our School and Griffith University, Australia.

In addition, Chan Kwan-ho, Cheung Tsun-ho and Chong King-chuen, students of the Higher Diploma Programme in Digital Animation and Creative Media, took home the Second Runner-up in the "Shatin to Central Link E-Game Design Competition" organised by the MTR Corporation and Hong Kong Computer Society. Cheung said, "Winning this award was a real surprise to us. The Higher Diploma Programme is definitely helping us gain more skills in character animation and design."
