IASP End-of-Semester Party

Time flies and the first term of the academic year 2012-13 has come to an end. The Office of Academic Links (OAL) organized an End-of-Semester party to bid farewell to the incoming exchange students at the Morningside College Dining Hall on 7 December 2012. Over 100 students attended the party with some senior university representatives who shared the joy and fond memories of the students at CUHK.

Pre-departure gathering for 2nd term outgoing exchange students 2012-13

OAL organized a pre-departure gathering for outgoing students for the 2nd term of 2012-13 on 9 November 2012 to facilitate students' preparation for studying abroad. A total of 70 returned and incoming exchange students joined the small group sharing sessions to share their valuable experience. The outgoing exchange students were provided with practical information and advice to prepare for study in the host countries.

CUHK students interviewed for 2013–2014 student exchange programmes

Around 1,100 of the 1,300 applicants were shortlisted for the 2013–2014 outgoing exchange programmes arranged by OAL. Some 60 percent of those shortlisted attended interviews in November and December 2012.

The allocation of places is based on the applicant's composite score on the interview and his/her CGPA. The interviews took place from 26 November to 8 December and involved 43 teaching staff, 19 administrative staff and 53 CUHK students who have taken part in exchanges. OAL would like to express its sincere thanks to the teaching staff, colleagues from other units and students who sat on the interview panels.

CUHK's Colleges also run a number of exchange programmes, and over 90 exchange places from University-wide programmes were allocated to the Colleges. Applications for these opportunities were made separately. The Colleges were encouraged to consider students' non-academic performance, e.g. participation in college and extra-curricular activities.
