Collaboration with the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers

On 26 May, the School signed an agreement with the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) to initiate collaboration between the two institutions in nurturing banking professionals and financial service executives. The Agreement Signing Ceremony was officiated by Mr Stanley Wong Yuen Fai, JP AHKIB, Chairman of the Membership and Professional Development Committee of HKIB and Dr Victor Lee, Director of the School. We were honoured to have Ms Carrie Leung, Chief Executive Officer of  HKIB, deliver a speech and Mr S K Chan, Senior Manager, Professional Qualifications and Membership of HKIB, as our honourable guests. Over 100 people attended the forum.

Following the Agreement Signing Ceremony, Mr Wong shared his view on career prospects in the banking and financial industries. He offered advice to those who would like to pursue careers in the industry and encouraged banking professionals to sharpen their language and other soft skills. He urged the audience to seize every learning opportunity as the investment in learning is zero-risk and reward guaranteed.

A collaboration initiative to commence this June will be the new Diploma Programme in Financial Planning.

Dr Victor Lee, Director of the School, and Mr Stanley Wong Yuen Fai, representing HKIB, officiated the agreement signing ceremony.

Mr Stanley Wong had an open dialogue with Dr Brandon Ng, Associate Director of the School, and shared his view on the career prospects in banking and financial industries.
