Lingnan Culture Studies Research Paper Competition 2024

Organized by the Research Programme for Lingnan Culture, Institute of Chinese Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

The Competition aims to promote international academic research on Lingnan culture, as well as to encourage local and overseas doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows who are aspiring to conduct in-depth research in the field. 

Eligibility:
Eligibility is limited to doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows.

1. Submissions must be papers of original research on Lingnan culture, in the areas of literature, history, philosophy, religion, arts, linguistics, anthropology, or other humanities disciplines. 
2. Submission papers should be either in Chinese or English of no more than 30,000 words. The papers should never have been published.

Submissions:
Submission period: 1 August 2024 – 31 December 2024
Applicants should submit the application form along with the research paper by email to: ics-lingnan@cuhk.edu.hk, with “Lingnan Culture Studies Research Paper Competition 2024 (Full name of applicant)” in the subject line.

Prizes:
Awards will be presented to the first, second, and third prize-winning entries (with cash prizes at HK$10,000, HK$8,000, and HK$5,000 respectively), and five honorable mentions (HK$3,000 each). The result will be announced in early 2025.
