Graduates showcased their talents and creativity and competed to be the Champion. Lo Yat-sing won that title with his "Dramatic" collection. Other winners included Hung Mun-wah (First Runner-up), Shu Chun-kit (Second Runner-up), Chan Hiu-tung (the Coats Creativity Award and the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association Best Collection Award) and Fu Mee-yu (the Hong Kong Chinese Textile Mills Association Best Marketability Award).
The winners were selected by an expert judging panel, including Mr Kevin Yeung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association, Mr Walter Ma, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association, Ms Bonita Cheung, a renowned fashion designer, Dr Roger Ng, Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Textile Mills Association, Ms Janae Chan, founder of Beauty Tech Institute Ltd and Mr Felix Chung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Apparel Society.
In addition, 33 graduates of our Higher Diploma Programme in Commercial Design showcased their graduation projects at a graduate exhibition entitled "Design Helps" on 22-25 July. Over 400 pieces of work were put on display, including graphic design, 3D-images, packaging and video. Chan Chung-leung was awarded the Grand Prize of Design with his project named "Tanka Museum".
Dr Tai-keung Kan BBS, our alumnus and Dean of the Cheung Kong School of Art and Design, Shantou University, Prof Kurt Y K Chan, Director of MA Programme in Fine Art, CUHK and Dr Victor Lee, Director of the School, officiated at the opening.
11 graduates of the Professional Diploma Programme in Creative Illustration (Cycle 8) and 21 graduates of the Diploma Programme in Chinese Ink Painting (Cycle 17) held their graduation exhibitions on 10 June and 15 July respectively.
