Our Alumni

The tourism industry is always energetic and full of vigor. Tourism is a great way to meet people from all over the world and broaden horizons. The Higher Diploma Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management is one of the School's most popular programmes. Many of our graduates attend local and overseas universities to further their studies in the field. Three of our graduates, Fiona Pak, Carol Lee and Jason Ng, are at present studying Bachelor Degrees in Tourism Management and Hotel Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) respectively.

Fiona, Carol and Jason started their fruitful 3-year life at CUSCS with the aim of getting a place at local universities. Jason said that the design of the Higher Diploma Programme is very practical and suitable for him. The Programme helped him establish a strong foundation on which he now can further his studies at PolyU.

The School always encourages students to develop practical experiences, build a strong foundation and acquire a professional attitude. Fiona's internship was to work in a travel agency as well as an event management company. "I learnt a lot of professional practices and operational procedures through the internship experience, and I learnt to be more considerate …… how to put myself in the guests' shoes."

Carol worked in a restaurant during her internship. She recalled one of her most memorable experiences at a baby expo, "There were so many baby strollers coming in as a baby expo was held nearby. I was shocked and didn't know what to do. Luckily, my colleagues were very helpful and handled the situation quickly, without affecting the restaurant operations."

Fiona and Carol are now studying Tourism Management while Jason is studying Hotel Management at the PolyU. Fiona and Jason, who enjoy a variety of sports activities, would like to work in events management after graduation. Carol's dream is to work in human resources and training field at hotels.
