How to Request Materials beyond the CUHK Library via ‘HKALL + Interlibrary Loan’ in LibrarySearch?
Have you ever found that you need an item that is not available at the CUHK Library? No panic! Using the ‘HKALL + Interlibrary Loan’ feature in LibrarySearch, you can request materials from other institutions by following the steps below.
- Search:
Log into LibrarySearch and search our collections. If the item you need is not available, simply switch the search scope to ‘HKALL + Interlibrary Loan’ to explore collections from other institutions.
- Place a request
Once you find the item you need, check the request options under ‘Get it from other institutions’. You may request to borrow a physical copy, a photocopy of a book chapter, or an article. A confirmation message, ‘The request was successfully submitted’, will appear if your request is successful.
- Track request statuses
Keep track of your requests by visiting ‘My Library Record’ in your account. The statuses of your requests can be viewed under the ‘REQUEST’ tab.
- Collect/Download
You will receive an email notification when your requested materials are ready. Physical copies will be delivered to your chosen CUHK library location for pickup, and photocopies will be sent to you electronically (except in special cases).
