Vice-Chancellor warmly welcomed some 600 incoming exchange students

Bidding farewell to the participants of the International Summer School (ISS) 2014
After five and a half weeks at CUHK, some 500 participants of the International Summer School (ISS) 2014 gathered one last time at the farewell dinner held on 1 August 2014. They were joined by Prof. Gordon Cheung, Associate Vice-President and Director of Summer Programmes, professors of ISS and CUHK staff members for a night of captivating student performances, daring games, great food and prizes.
Outgoing exchange programmes in 2015–16 and summer 2015 to open for application
CUHK students are provided with opportunities to go on exchange in 33 destinations around the world. Over 240 university-wide exchange and summer-to-summer exchange programmes are offered by the University and its colleges, faculties and departments. These exchange programmes will be open for application via CUSIS during 21-31 October. Full-time students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7, good disciplinary standing and satisfactory TOEFL or IELTS score (if required by the individual exchange programmes) are eligible to apply.
A series of promotional activities will be held by OAL in October, including road shows and information sessions on the exchange programmes available in different destinations, the application procedures and schedule. Information on outgoing exchange will be available on the OAL website from mid-October.
Summer Undergraduate Research Programme 2015 to call for host supervisors
The inaugural Summer Undergraduate Research Programme 2014 organised by OAL was concluded on 8 August. Twenty-six students from 21 institutions in 12 countries/regions completed their research projects under the supervision of 20 host supervisors from CUHK during 6 June-15 August.
In preparation for the programme in 2015, OAL will soon invite CUHK faculty members from all disciplines to host incoming undergraduate students for summer research projects next summer. Faculty members are encouraged to take part in the programme, which facilitates recruitment of potential students for postgraduate students at the University. More details will be announced on OAL website in October.
